Steve Loyer – President and Owner
With over 25 years of sales and service experience in network and network security solutions, Steve has earned technical and sales certificates from Microsoft, Cisco, Hewlett Packard, Citrix, Sonicwall, Symantec, McAfee, Barracuda and American Power Conversion. Steve graduated from Vermont Technical College with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology.
David Boera – Director of Cloud Services
David has been with The Tech Group team for over 23 years as Sales Manager, Purchasing Manager and our Service Director. David attended the University of Vermont, and Lyndon State College for his graduate studies. He is SonicWALL CSSA, Citrix and Dells Sales Certified. David was raised in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, and has been a Burlington area resident for over 33 years. David has two children, and is Vice Chair for The Classic Mike Loyer Foundation.
Linus Goedken – Senior Network Engineer
Linus has over 15 years of experience designing, consulting and support IT Networks in Vermont. Linus is a Microsoft Certified Professional, A+, Cisco Certified Network Associate/Wireless, SonicWALL CSSA, Dell/Equallogic and VMware Certified Professional. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies. He and his wife, Andrea, live in Colchester with their two children.
David Curtis – Senior Network Engineer
With over 25 years of IT experience, David was the Senior Network Engineer for the South Burlington School District and successfully owned and operated his own network support company. David has a wide range of experience servicing many large and small customers around the region. David and his wife, Lisa, reside in Burlington with their 3 daughters.
Aaron Lewis – Senior Network Engineer
Aaron has 20 years’ experience working in the IT field. He has vast scripting experience including Powershell and VB scripting. Aaron has worked in a System Administrator capacity for both Private and State government IT sectors for 10 plus years. Aaron has extensive experience planning, implementing and managing Active Directory environments. He has experience planning and implementing Active Directory Federated Service environments. Aaron has focused extensively on working on PCI compliance in the banking industry for the last few years prior to working with the Tech Group.
Deo Pokhrel – Network Engineer
Deo has over 5 years of experience in computer IT field supporting different agencies. Graduated from Vermont Technical Collage with Bachelor of Science. He is a Certified Dell EMC Engineer, Dell EMC Marketing & a Certified Nepali Translator. Outside of work he enjoys playing Soccer, Cricket and Volleyball and loves spending time with family and traveling around the world.
Brian Manning – Director of Managed Services
Brian joins the Tech Group bringing over 15 years IT & Telecommunications experience. He has worked for several area Internet Service Providers in the role of Network Administration. He brings a breadth of experience with Aruba Networking products, HP ProCurve switching, VMWare and Linux. Brian resides in Panton, and enjoys gardening and hiking Vermont’s many trails.
Tom Mathews – Account Director
Tom has worked in telecommunications since 1990 after graduating with a BS in Corporate Communications from Castleton State College (now Castleton University). He immediately began his career in Burlington, Vermont with Network Services Corporation, an Authorized Agent of New England Telephone. In 2000, he began work at Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom as the Sales Manager. In 2014, he began working again with FairPoint Communications as a Level III Account Manager. He now joins the Techgroup the Human Side of IT as the Account Director. He is very excited to work with a fantastic Vermont company in the challenging field of Information Technology.
Susan Fayette – Sales / Marketing
Susan is responsible for assisting and implementing Tech Group’s strategic marketing and sales initiatives, along with managing their seminar and education series events. She also plays a pivotal role with Tech Group’s web administration and constant contact distributions. A graduate of Champlain College, Susan has extensive experience in marketing, event planning and strategic planning. Susan lives in South Burlington with her husband and their family, and enjoys her summers on Lake Champlain.
Chris Russell – Managed Services Sales Director
Chris has worked with cutting edge technology since 2008 after graduating with a BA in Government: International Relations from Clark University. He immediately began his career in New York, NY as a Production Assistant while working on The World Series of Poker for ESPN. In 2016, he began work at SolarCity and eventually Tesla as an Energy Consultant helping Vermonters to pursue a greener lifestyle. He now joins the Tech Group the Human Side of IT as the Managed Services Sales Director. In his spare time, you can find Chris with his wife, Chelsea, and daughters, Lily and Sophia, enjoying the great outdoors. He is thrilled to be working with such a tremendous company and excited to help local companies reach and surpass their IT goals.
Ashten Stringer – Service Coordinator/Sales
Ashten comes to the Tech Group with 3 years of project management experience with the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is a motivated multitasker with interest in computers and the various uses they have in people’s personal and professional lives. Ashten holds a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies concentrating on project management and community development from the University of Vermont. In his free time Ashten enjoys doing anything outside including skiing, hiking and playing soccer or basketball.
Josh Rollet – Network Engineer/Sales
Josh joined The Tech Group in 2018. With seven years of experience supporting small businesses to large corporations (and everything in between), along with a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Technology from Vermont Technical college, Josh is well equipped to tackle any problem. Outside of work Josh seeks new challenges by disassembling and reassembling his project car, as well as his home network, despite his wife’s objections.
Mary Loyer – Finance Controller
Is responsible for management and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting, monitoring internal controlls, financial reporting, payroll and tax compliance. Mary operates her own business of 13 years as a QuickBooks Proadvisor Consultant/Bookkeeper and worked previously for 7 years with a CPA firm as their QuickBooks Advisor. A graduate of Champlain College, she has extensive accounting background, taught training seminars on QuickBooks and a course for Small Business Development. Mary enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, camping, outdoor activities, live music and walking their dog. She volunteers as a mentor with the South Burlington School Mentoring Program for 6 years and continues to enjoy this special time weekly.
Jennifer Clark – Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Jen graduated from Champlain College with an Accounting Degree and joins Tech Group with over 25 years of accounting experience. She is responsible for Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Accounts Receivable. Jen has dedicated the last ten years volunteering, and working for, the American Cancer Society after her cancer diagnosis in 2007. She is originally from Lubbock, TX, and now resides in Swanton with her husband, four children, and their chocolate lab, Maggie. She loves spending time outside with her family hiking, kayaking, biking, skiing, and wine touring with her husband!
